In view of the upcoming meeting of the Competitiveness Council on 30 November, COCIR, together with five other associations highlights the key role of Horizon Europe for European health research & innovation. As COCIR outlined in our previous contribution on Horizon Europe, all the areas of intervention in the European Commission’s proposal for the health cluster are critical to focus on the best value for the citizen and support the development of integrated care in the EU.

We urge EU Member States to support the creation of an institutional cross-sectorial public-private partnership in the health area. A thriving environment that enables research, innovation and deployment is essential and for economic growth in Europe. A public-private partnership will increase the impact of European research, deliver solutions for patients, and contribute to making our healthcare systems more sustainable and fit for tomorrow.
