Since the 1990s, COCIR collects quantitative data (Orders/ Bookings and Sales/ Billings) from the medical imaging sector and monitors the size and trends of the market.
The Companies‘ central offices report their market data directly to COCIR via a secure website.
The data collection covers most countries Worldwide: Europe, Middle East and CIS, Asia, Africa, Central and South America. Excluded: US, Canada and Japan.
The data for: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (MI PET CT), Ultrasound and X-Ray is commercially available.

COCIR also measures the age profile and density of the main medical imaging product modalities, to proactively support European Member States in monitoring their installed equipment base.
The “Golden Rules” for medical imaging were developed by COCIR in 2003 to recommend an appropriate mix in the age profile of installed equipment.
