We are running into a promising year 2018 and are very excited to share with you some elements.
First, Year 2017 ended with a very successful COCIR Digital Health Summit and launch of our paper on Blockchain in Health. To see more on post summit outcome, interviews and summit highlights, connect to this link. We also celebrated the 10th year anniversary of our office in China in November.
Looking now forward into year 2018, we are very excited to share with you some of the key activities we will continue to focus on. At European level, MDR remains into our key priorities as it enters into a critical implementation phase with more to come through secondary legislation this year and onwards. We will continue to support European Commission and Member States while building the necessary regulatory intelligence and support our industry members to ensure timely compliance to MDR without hopefully affecting the time to market for innovative solutions ultimately benefiting the citizens. In addition to MDR, we want to raise awareness on BSS Directive enforcement in 6 Feb. 2018. Click here to read more on COCIR work with European Commission, HERCA and other partners such as ESR.
Not to be forgotten is the forthcoming enforcement of GDPR on 25 May 2018 for which COCIR built specific intelligence for our members and established partnerships with other stakeholders: click here to read more.
COCIR will continue to partner with ESR and support EUROSAFE at the forthcoming ECR.
At international level, we are looking at strengthening our activities on integrated care through the Integrated Care Alliance and our newly established and promising partnership with IFIC. In addition, and in my capacity of DITTA Vice-Chair, we will continue to strengthen importance of medical technologies at WHO level as well as moving into supporting the China Chairmanship of IMDRF during the forthcoming meetings planned in Shanghai on week of 19 March. Continue to follow-us as we will continue to dynamically communicate!

COCIR Secretary General
