Once more, COCIR took part in the EU’s eHealth Week held this year under the Irish EU Presidency in Dublin from 13-15 May.  I had the honour of moderating the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) Symposium and I also presented in the mHealth Symposium and in the EU-US eHealth/Health IT Cooperation Assembly on eSkills.

To coincide with eHealth Week, we launched the 3rd edition of our eHealth Toolkit. This latest Toolkit focuses on the importance of Digital Hospitals through smart adoption of electronic health records (EHRs), the potential of mHealth and the key role of interoperability in contributing to the sustainability of healthcare systems in Europe, particularly during the current economic crisis.
 
The latest eHealth Toolkit also provides an overview of legal and regulatory trends, including the status on Data Protection Regulation.  
 
As an industry, we are committed to continuing to contribute to the European process on the development of eHealth, for the benefit of European citizens and also healthcare workers.
