Following the April 2013 Guidance on RoHS II obligations for medical devices, COCIR published on Monday 3 March a new guidance document for companies in the medical sector together with EDMA and Eucomed.

The new guidance collects frequently asked question on RoHS II on subjects not addressed so far by industry or EU Commission guidance. COCIR aim is to help companies by providing all the relevant information to allow them to be fully compliant by 22 July 2014, date of entering into force of obligations.

A new guidance document addressing further compliance issues is actually in the pipeline and will be published by COCIR in March.
