eHealth Crucial For Tackling Healthcare Inequality

BRUSSELS – 7 November 2014 – ‘Business as usual’ should no longer be tolerated when dealing with European healthcare challenges.  This is why COCIR is delighted to announce the launch of its ‘1st Annual COCIR eHealth Summit 2014’ in Brussels, Belgium on 18-19 November 2014.

Innovative technologies including eHealth are key for tackling healthcare challenges across Europe, meeting service demands and patient expectations.  This summit will look at how health ICT can improve quality of care, access to healthcare and connect hospitals to the wider health community, making them more efficient in the process.

COCIR will bring together the key stakeholders representatives from European Institutions, OECD, the scientific community, users, industry and other key decision makers at the conference, exhibition and networking.  Topics to be covered include mHealth, big data, electronic health records, hospital IT investments, EPR deployment integrated care and chronic diseases.

Nicole Denjoy, COCIR Secretary General, said, “COCIR is delighted to host its first annual eHealth Summit. There is an urgent need to transform healthcare delivery at the patient level, share best practices and to integrate currently fragmented care processes. Hospitals will play a critical role in participating in this paradigm shift.  We look forward to fruitful and engaging discussions and invite you to join.”
