Happy New Year 2018 and Moving forward….

We are running into a promising year 2018 and are very excited to share with you some elements.
First, Year 2017 ended with a very successful Opens external link in new windowCOCIR Digital Health Summit and launch of our Opens external link in new windowpaper on Blockchain in Health. We also celebrated the 10th year anniversary of Opens external link in new windowour office in China in November.
Looking now forward into year 2018, we are very excited to share with you some of the key activities we will continue to focus on. At European level, MDR remains into our key priorities as it enters into a critical implementation phase with more to come through secondary legislation this year and onwards. We will continue to support European Commission and Member States while building the necessary regulatory intelligence and support our industry members to ensure timely compliance to MDR without hopefully affecting the time to market for innovative solutions ultimately benefiting the citizens. In addition to MDR, we want to raise awareness on BSS Directive enforcement in 6 Feb. 2018. Click here to read more on COCIR work with European Commission, HERCA and other partners such as ESR.

Not to be forgotten is the forthcoming enforcement of GDPR on 25 May 2018 for which COCIR built specific intelligence for our members and established partnerships with other stakeholders: click Opens external link in new windowhere to read more.

At international level, we are looking at strengthening our activities on integrated care through the Opens external link in new windowIntegrated Care Alliance and our newly established and promising partnership with Opens external link in new windowIFIC. In addition, and in my capacity of Opens external link in new windowDITTA Vice-Chair, we will continue to strengthen importance of medical technologies at WHO level as well as moving into supporting the China Chairmanship of Opens external link in new windowIMDRF during the forthcoming meetings planned in Shanghai on week of 19 March.
