COCIR continues to closely monitor the developments regarding the Electromagnetic fields (EMF) directive. COCIR is still asking for an exemption for MRI to the limit values based on its position paper released on 7 May 2007.

COCIR is also monitoring the situation at national level and in particular in Germany. Discussions are taking place at ZVEI -member of COCIR-, the Alliance for MRI and the German Association of Radiologists (DRG).

The new version of the EMF directive will be publicly available within the next few weeks and will be discussed at the European Parliament and the Council.
