There is no specific EU policy dedicated to mHealth. The European Commission plans to adopt by 2014 a green paper on mHealth and health wellbeing applications (part of the eHealth Action Plan).

Other EU legislations and policies applying to mHealth are the Medical devices Directive and the related EC guidelines on the qualification and classification of stand alone software used in healthca , the telecommunications package,thee-privacy Directive (2002/58/EC), the Data Protection Directive (1995/46/EC).
