The importance of technologies in cancer care and the role of digital innovation

Each year, as a truly global event,  Opens external link in new windowWorld Cancer Day reminds us all of the present challenges, pressing governments and individuals to take action.
With the tagline ‘We can. I can.’ in mind, we are proud as ever to highlight our part in reducing the global burden of cancer:  the increasingly important role that medical technologies play in significantly reducing the illnesses and premature deaths.
We believe that it is vital to maintain the widest public focus on this disease, and to raise awareness of the continuous progress and achievements in research and technological advances in prevention and treatment.

At international level, under the Opens external link in new windowDITTA umbrella we participated to the Opens external link in new windowWHO Executive Board, and were successful in having a statement mentioned.
The WHO Opens external link in new windowReport “Cancer prevention and control in the context of an integrated approach” urges Member States to improve access to timely diagnosis and treatment, to ensure  the  availability  of  the  essential  medicines  and  technologies  to implement   them,   through   appropriate   financing   arrangements.
