COCIR is a leader in the field of environment and at the forefront of green initiatives with intelligent EcoDesign solutions. COCIR members pro-actively embedded environmental objectives throughout the products life cycles often at design phase of products.

COCIR member companies were active several years ago in contributing to the elaboration of the internationally-recognized standard for integrating EcoDesign into the product design and development process, so called IEC 60601-1-9: Environmentally Conscious Design of Medical Electrical Equipment. This standard was published in July 2007 and constitutes an important element in the EuP Initiative in which COCIR is involved.
