COCIR adds its weight to policy discussions on advancing healthcare by closely cooperating with European associations, including medical professionals and healthcare providers, as well as other organisations on areas of common interest.

COCIR is a member of DITTA, the International Congress of Diagnostic Imaging and Therapy Systems Trade Associations. Through DITTA, COCIR cooperates closely with its fellow organisations MITA (the medical division of NEMA) (USA), JIRA (Japan) and MEDEC (Canada). COCIR also works closely with other international associations of the medical device industry.

COCIR takes part in the European Medical Industry Group, EMIG which brings together the European medical industry organisations COCIR, EUCOMED, EDMA, EUROM VI and EHIMA.

COCIR is a sponsor of Integrating the Health Care Enterprise (IHE) and is also a member of the European Health Telematics Association EHTEL.

Working on standards and harmonisation, COCIR is active in DICOM, the Global Harmonisation Task Force (GHTF) and Cenelec.

We work closely with Euregha to strengthen our relations at the regional level, including on the Committee of the Regions Open Days (Euregha).

We cooperate closely with HIMSS on healthcare IT (HIMSS).

COCIR has permanent contact with user organisations, particularly the European Society of Radiologists on various matters including the Alliance for MRI.  COCIR also has contact with the European Society of Cardiology.
